The New Jersey Health Professionals Development Institute exists to provide a wide variety of professional education courses, presentations and meetings in all health related fields to health professionals in New Jersey and surrounding areas. Our goals for the institute are to provide:

VOCATIONAL COURSES
INTRODUCTION TO DENTAL ASSISTING
This course is designed to present the basic principles of dental assisting. The student will be trained on an over view of the dental profession.
Emphasis is placed on the concepts of infection control, room prep, dental anatomy, preventive care, dental instruments and specialties in dentistry.
Basic concepts of dental radiology will also be covered. (For the Dental Xray License, check our course on Dental Radiography)
Through lecture, demonstration and laboratory sessions, the student will be introduced to various aspects of dental procedures. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to obtain entry-level positions as dental assistants in dental offices or clinics.

DENTAL RADIOLOGY COURSE FOR DENTAL ASSISTANTS
This course is designed to present the basic principles of dental radiology. The student will be trained on the origin, production and utilization of radiation in dentistry. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of radiation safety and patient management.
The course includes: 25 lecture hours, 15 laboratory hours, and 30 hours (onsite or offsite) of supervised clinical education. The student will gain practical experience in exposing, processing, and mounting dental radiographs of diagnostic quality.
The Dental Radiology Course for Dental Assistants is accredited by the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Successful completion of the course will fulfill the educational requirements for the NJ Dental Radiology License Examination.
