Dental practices are filled with patients that pay monthly premiums to medical insurers for policies that have benefits payable to dentists. These medical in-nature services are provided on a daily basis in dental practices across the country.
In this course you will learn what services are billable to and payable by medical insurance plans as well as how to navigate the medical claims cycle from start to payment for common claim scenarios such as exams, radiographs, imaging, trauma, and more.
Course Description:
Medical benefits represent a unique opportunity for dental practices to make their services more affordable, increase case acceptance, and increase practice revenue. Medical billing by dental offices, however, can be perceived as daunting for one reason: lack of knowledge. This lack of knowledge is compounded by the belief that successful medical billing relies on codes. IT DOES NOT! Only when armed with a thorough knowledge of the entire medical billing process can dental personnel confidently and successfully access medical benefits for common services. In this course, a layered dissection of the medical billing revenue cycle will be presented providing participants with the tools necessary to build a proven medical billing system in their practice.
