Kenneth L. Hilsen, DDS, F.I.C.D.

Dr. Kenneth Hilsen

Dr. Hilsen received his D.D.S. degree from New York University, College of Dentistry. He completed his Prosthodontic specialty training in a combined 3 year program at the New York Veterans Administration Hospital and New York University.

Dr. Hilsen served as Clinical Professor at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Assistant Professor at N.Y.U. Dr. Hilsen is presently a member of the credentialed staff at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck and a consultant to numerous sleep centers in the New York and New Jersey area. Dr. Hilsen has three patents on his anti-snoring devices and lectures nationally on snoring and sleep apnea.

Although there are many dental organizations that Dr. Hilsen holds membership in, there are two dental organizations that are honorary and require nomination and acceptance by his dental peers. Dr. Hilsen was elected a member of the International College of Dentists “the honorary dental organization dedicated to the recognition of outstanding professional achievement and meritorious service”. He also has been elected to the American College of Dentists whose mission is to promote excellence, ethics, and professionalism in dentistry.

Dr. Hilsen is active in many state and national professional organizations including serving as President of the American College of Prosthodontists – New Jersey Section. He was elected to the National Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists and directed the Private Practice Division and the Public and Professional Relations Division.

He also chaired the Committee on TMD, and the committee on Sleep Disordered Breathing. He is a charter member and past president of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Sleep Society. He is a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Hilsen is a pioneer in dental implants and is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the national specialty implant group. Dr. Hilsen actively works with Nobel Biocare, one of the leaders in the field of implant dentistry.

Dr. Hilsen has been chosen by the Consumer’s Research Council of America for the list of top dentists throughout the United States. This Council uses the criteria of training, experience, and the dedication to the professional associations to name a dentist to their list.

Dr. Hilsen founded and served as the Director of the Center for Prosthodontic Education, the continuing education center for the American College of Prosthodontists. This center offers continuing education courses resource to both general dentists and prosthodontists all over the country.
